ORÉA MAISON

We buy stones worth keeping.

Natural coloured stones of documented origin, with or without a report. Tell us what you have, as fully as you can, and one of us replies within a working day.

The house buys the stone before there is a design, and only stones it would be glad to keep. Sapphire, ruby, emerald, spinel, padparadscha, Paraíba tourmaline, alexandrite: natural, and ideally reported. What you do not know, leave blank. What you do, tell us in your own words.

The stone

As much as you know. What you do not know, leave: we will ask.

Variety

In carats.

Brilliant, step, mixed, antique cushion.

In your own words, or the report's.

Dimensions (optional, in millimetres)

Clarity (optional)

Treatment (optional)

Origin and provenance

Where it was mined, and how it came to you.

How the origin is known (optional)

Inherited, bought at auction, from a dealer, from the mine; roughly when, and from whom if you can say.

Laboratory reports

A report from a laboratory the trade recognises speaks for the stone. If there is one, tell us who wrote it and send it with the photographs.

Is there a report?

Photographs and documents

Daylight, no flash, and the stone on white if you can. The report, a receipt, or an old valuation, as scans or photographs.

Files

Photographs and PDFs, up to six, four megabytes in all.

About you

City and country.

A figure or a range, in any currency. Leave it if you would rather hear an offer.

How would you like us to be in touch? (optional)

We use what you send only to consider the stone and reply to you. Nothing is shared, and nothing is kept if you ask us not to.

We read it

Everything you send is read by one of us, not sorted by a machine. If a detail is missing we ask for it before anything else.

We reply within a working day

With questions, or with an invitation to show us the stone in person or by video, under daylight lamps and the loupe.

We make an offer, or we do not

A stone we would be glad to keep gets a written offer. A stone that is not for us is returned with our thanks, and we say why.
